The hybrids developed under the LG Animal Nutrition (LGNA) program have the genetic potential to deliver superior nutritional value while maintaining excellent yield and agronomic quality. This enhances feed performance and helps reduce reliance on external feed sources.
Since 1977, Limagrain has understood that each production goal requires a specific type of seed. That means corn hybrids for animal production (milk or meat) must be bred through a tailored breeding program—different from those aimed at grain production.
Recognizing the importance of this approach, Limagrain launched a project in France to develop and select the best corn silage hybrids: LG Animal Nutrition (LGNA). This program positioned the company as a global leader in corn silage hybrids and remains the only initiative worldwide dedicated exclusively to animal nutrition.
In 2023, LG Sementes launched a new communication campaign in Brazil, leveraging Limagrain’s global expertise. The campaign, titled "Silage for those who want Max", highlights three hybrids tailored for silage: LG 36700VIP3, LG 36799VIP3, and LG 36770PRO4. These hybrids underwent extensive laboratory testing and were proven to deliver the right nutritional value for Brazilian livestock.
To ensure quality, Limagrain partners with respected laboratories and research institutions. Sample analysis is performed using NIRS (Near-Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy), a modern and reliable method for nutritional evaluation.
Hybrids that receive the LG Animal Nutrition Seal of Excellence are subjected to two years of research in at least two research centers. During this time, they are benchmarked against the best-performing control hybrids in the market. After passing through rigorous agronomic evaluations, bromatological analysis, and animal performance trials, qualified products are certified with the LGNA seal.
These evaluations are conducted in partnership with renowned laboratories and research institutions using NIRS technology, ensuring accurate and reliable nutritional assessments.
